colorado (ROUGH DRAFT)

We just got back from our most recent Colorado trip and it was the most fun trip we've taken out there yet! We got to meet so many cool people and ride so many good trails. We started the week by doing a quick ride at S mountain in Salida. This ride was really fun but we were excited to ride the trails off of monarch crest later on in the week. When we were done we went to go and eat at a restaurant and then walk through town. On day two we went and rode greens creek off of the monarch crest this trail was really fun even though we had a massive climb, this was also the longest ride we did at 21 miles in length. The next day We went and took a break from riding and wondered around town. But on Wednesday we went and rode fooses creek off of monarch crest. On Friday we went fishing and then headed out to crested butte to meet up with the Hudsons and ride the bike park but little did we know there was a really cool dispersed camping place back in the mountains that we ended up staying at for five nights! we also rode teocalli ridge and got demoralized when my shifter broke and we got rlly sad.

New Bike Day!!!!

For Christmas this year I got a new bike! It is really the best bike that I have ever had because it is an enduro race bike. It is called the Enduro it is manufactured by specialized in California. The bike is a very deep purple color with a matte Finish. I am glad it isn't gloss because gloss shows finger prints. It took us a while to get enough parts to build this thing up but yesterday we finally got it built. It looks and rides really well. The parts fit together seamlessly because they have exact sizing. I haven't yet taken the bike to a real place to ride it yet. But I did ride it throughout my neighborhood multiple times! Thank you to my Mom And Dad for making it possible for me to have my dream bike.

2021 Fall Festival

This year at the fall festival I competed in the whip off contest for the third year in a row. I had so much fun and was able to manage about fourt place in the whip off. My friends Noah and Jake were able to podium though. They both were very stoked on their placings. Later on in the night I got to see the pros do insane ligns on the pump track. All in all it was a great day.

TTC Enduro Race

This past weekend was the Go Nuts TTC Enduro. It was super fun to hang out with my friends and ride a lot of really cool trails. Although we had to hike up almost every transfer do to the amount of mud. But I really enjoyed it because I got first place.

Kanuga Relay Race With Family and Pisgah Ride With Dad

This last weekend my family and I competed in the black cat relay race at Ride Kanuga Hendersonville NC. This was a really fun race but it was really cold. Even though she didn't like riding in the cold my mom pushed through and raced two laps. I raced 6 laps my dad did 7 and my little brother did 4 which is a new biggest amount for me and him. On Sunday ( the day after the race) my dad and I rode black mountain with my mother and little brother then went and rode 10 more miles on the bennet gap trail. All in all, it was an amazing weekend

Above is a picture of me at the Kanuga race.

Panther Creek Relay Race

A couple weeks ago my friends and I competed at the 8-hour relay race at panther creek by dirty bird events.  My team was the only team with kids under 18 on it. It included my friend Henry, Grant, Bryson, and also me. I was chosen to go out first with everybody else from the other teams so I was the muddiest of all. In order to be there at 8:00 when the race started my mom and I had to leave our house at 5:30 A.M. I was so tired later on that day but I still pushed on and got the fastest lap of the team. I am really looking forward to the Kanuga black cat relay race with my family next weekend. Here are some pictures of my team and I.

Just an update

Sorry I haven't been posting very much lately but there is a big post coming sometime next week about the panther creek eight-hour race, by dirty bird events. But just tonight my dad and I went riding at haw ridge and had a great time. Though we may need to bleed my brakes as they don't really work right now. But when I got on my dad's bike for a second I noticed that I was over braking because of the grabbiness of the formula curas compared to the squishy ness of the Sram CODEs. But all in all, we had a great time. Oh, btw I have a youtube channel it is Wyatt Ferguson. I only have one video but more coming soon.

Great Weekend At BSF

This last weekend my family and some of my dad's friends went up to our cabin in Scott county Tennessee to ride at big south for and at our cabin. We ended up riding 16 miles on Saturday and around ten on Sunday. On Saturday we rode John Litton and Grand Gap trails in big south fork state forest. The next day we rode six laps on our xc loop then messed around on some of our DH trails at the cabin. We all had a great time. Here are some pictures below.

Ride Kanuga End Of Summer Jam

Last weekend at Ride Kanuga there was an enduro, DH, and whip off competitions. I had a blast at all of the events. When we arrived at Kanuga it was the day of the whip off so I got ready and spent the whole day practicing for the whip off and enduro. Little did I know but the whip off wouldn't start till 7:00 that night so I had worn myself out by then. But I still managed to get a second. The next day was the downhill race. So all day I hammered laps on that until 1:00. I ended up winning the DH by three seconds over second place. The third day was the enduro and this was by far the hardest day because I had to climb to the very top instead of the usual halfway. My dad climbed the stages with me but I had to race down by myself. I ended up winning that one too by about 20 seconds.

Thank you to Neko Mulally and all of the Kanuga Crew for putting on such a great event!

Downhill Southeast Round One

Earlier on this week I competed in the Downhill Southeast at Windrock Bike Park. Since this was the first race of the season they required us to wear masks while in the shuttle line and on the shuttle. This race was very important to me because I would be able to test out my new bike at a downhill park for the first time. The first practice day was amazing conditions while the second was disgustingly muddy. On Saturday the dirt was perfect, luckily Sunday was to. On race day I only got one practice run then an hour later I got a race run. My race run was pretty good but dropped my chain somewhere and it didn't come on until I was through the hard part. All in all I am happy with placing ninth but I think I could have done better.

Windrock Tennessee National

Sorry, I'm late on posting this, but last weekend was the Tennessee National mountain bike race and festival. This year was a little bit more exciting than last year because I got to race the big race and do the red bull ravine, which is a huge drop and step-up right at the bottom by the road. So basically the prime spectating spot. I raced cat 2/3 junior 14 and under. It was definitely the hardest and most enjoyable race I have ever done. I finished in 8th out of 19 riders. Overall I am very happy with my results because I achieved my goal, to top ten the race.

Here's a video of me doing the red bull drop and step-up.
